Charlotte L. Matthew, Principal Nichelle Logan Jones, A.P. Patrice Joseph, A.P. An Attitude of Gratitude! What a glorious season! We have so many reasons to be thankful, not just for the obvious blessings like food and shelter, but for the multitude of things that we often take for granted. From home to school to work to play, let’s take time from our usual routines to look for good and positive things and give thanks. We are thankful for the families who take an active role in our school. Thank you to all who came out for Report Card Conferences. Our Trunk or Treat event was fantastic thanks to the efforts of our PTO, families and school committee. We give thanks for our ExCEED Network and school community as we shift to the NIET best practices model. Our teachers continue to plan rigorous lessons to reach all of our students and our Instructional Leadership Team, Para educators, and other support personnel assist with making sure all students are engaged and supported. We are thankful for the families that are keeping up with the social and academic progress of their children and are making sure our students are completing their homework and are on time every day. We give thanks to our students, staff and families who support our anti littering and recycling efforts. There are many other things we are thankful for. We appreciate each and every person who is dedicated to the continued improvement of our school! Staying Connected There are many ways to stay connected as a Baby Ben family. Our monthly calendar is updated on our web site, babyben.org when new events are added. We also have a Facebook page. If you have a Facebook.com account you can join this group. Look for Benjamin Franklin Elementary Mathematics and Science School. There is opportunity for discussions as well as posting pictures of our school events. Our Twitter account is BabyBen@OPSBabyBen. All parents should also be keeping up with their child’s progress on PowerSchool and DoJo. School Wide Plan (SWP) This month we will meet for our first quarter review of our SWP at the District. Every day our focus in on improving the academic and behavioral climate of our building and reaching our yearly goals. One of our Great Expectations is for our parents to be an integral part of our students reaching their personal goals. This will in turn help the school reach our school wide goals. Please talk to your child about the importance of doing their best every day and ask them about their individual goals in each class. It is only through our students meeting their individual goals that we will meet our School Wide Plan goals. We monitor our progress on a continual basis. We are reaching for the "A" school status and we know our students are capable of getting us there.
