Celebrating Positive Culture
One of the hallmarks of Benjamin Franklin Elementary Mathematics and Science School is our positive school culture. We are a family environment insisting on common core values and an emphasis on the Academic, Social, and Moral teachings to make our students the best they can be. Our February Black History Program exemplified this and can be seen this month on the NOPS Educational Access channel. All month long we will be in the final stages of LEAP preparation. Students in grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 will be taking the state tests April 7 – 11, 2014. It is high stakes for our fourth and eighth grade students! Please continue to monitor their school and homework. Our eighth graders will take EXPLORE and all students will begin third quarter exams right after the Mardi Gras Holiday. Don’t forget to turn your clocks forward on the 9th. The alarms will ring mighty early on Monday the 10th!!
Health Insurance Market Place
The enrollment deadline is March 31, 2014. If you don’t have coverage now, or if you want to look at other options, this web site can give you the information you need to make an informed decision. With one Marketplace application, you can learn if you can get lower costs based on your income, compare your coverage options side-by-side, and enroll. The Marketplace will also tell you if you qualify for free or low-cost coverage available through Medicaid or the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
