January 2015 Edition
A message from your child’s Principal, Ms. Matthew:
We are now halfway through the school year. It is very important that you are aware of your child’s progress in school. Tuesday, January 13th is our report card conference day. Please make plans to attend between the hours of 3:30 and 5:30PM at the Nashville Campus and 3:45 – 5:45 at the Jefferson Campus. After report card conferences please join the PTO at the Jefferson campus for our January PTO meeting at 6:00. Our Parent Liaison will have activities ongoing between 3:45 and 5:45 so you can pick up your child’s report card and also get important information at our Title I Parent Workshop! Our teachers will be notifying parents of mandatory conferences which must be held with parents whose child is in danger of failing due to not meeting state attendance requirements, and/or not meeting academic requirements. At the conference, those parents will be asked to sign a Student Study Educational Plan. Your child’s teacher will recommend in school interventions and also things that need to be done away from school to help your child succeed. Working together we can make a difference in the education of our students.
Climb high. Climb far. Your goal the sky. Your aim the stars.
January is the time for setting new goals and making New Year’s Resolutions. How can small changes in your daily habits impact your future? Talk with your child about setting goals and making the connection between goal setting and life outcomes. Day by day we can all make the small steps necessary to create positive change. If you believe, plan, work, and stay focused, your vision for the future can be a reality
I am very blessed to be the leader of a wonderful school with a fantastic staff, supportive parents, and motivated students. This is a very special place and we work hard to create an environment where adults and students can be successful. Please continue to encourage your child to be the very best he or she can be and live our motto: Beyond Expectations. Thank you for your outpouring of love and support for me and our wonderful staff. Happy New Year!
